Measurement Form
Materials:  Wear your best-fitting unlined bra.  If you are ordering an underbust corset, any bra will work.  You will need a paper
measuring tape (the plastic ones tend to stretch over time), string or elastic, and a mirror to help you keep things level in the
back.  Print the form at the bottom of this page and use it as a reference.

If you're uneasy about doing your own measurements, you can print this form and bring it to a professional tailor. They don’t
charge much for this service and you can only benefit from their experience. Your first measurement is the most important one –
it is your reference point.  Tie a piece of string or elastic snug around the smallest part of your waist.  If you’re unsure where this
should be, bend side to side and lift your arms.  The elastic will naturally find the right spot.  This is the spot where the greatest
reduction will take place. Make sure the elastic does not move from this spot while taking measurements (here's where the
marker comes in handy).  I use imperial measuring, but if you are more comfortable using metric please do so.  Just be sure to
notify me if you do.  All horizontal measurements should be parallel to the floor and all vertical measurements should be
perpendicular. Record all measurements accurate to ¼". If measuring by yourself, take extra care on the horizontal
measurements that the tape is level across your back!

Tips for getting accurate measurements:
Keep proper posture when measuring, but remember to stay natural.   Keep your feet together, and don't slouch or
unnaturally stretch your body.
Use a washable marker to mark reference points on your body
Have someone assist you.  Some measurements can be difficult to do by yourself
Wear form-fitting clothing and don't measure over your hands. Keep the tape snug, but not tight.
Take measurements twice, and be honest with yourself.
If in doubt, ask! This can be confusing sometimes so please ask me if you're unsure about anything.  Most of the time I'll
reply within 24 hours.

Please fill out all areas before submitting this form.  There are 3 sets of measurements, divided by color, and a text field to
address specific concerns.
There are two diagrams below the form to help you.
Describe yourself...What are the characteristics of your body? Muscular, fleshy, bony, etc..?  For what reasons do you plan on wearing your corset
(lingerie, tightlacing, a fashionable top...)?  Are there any specific concerns you'd like to address?
# 1 - 9 are circumference measurements.  Remember to take care that the tape is level and does not rise up or sag anywhere, especially across the back
1)  Natural Waist:  This measurement is your reference point, and is where you will tie your string/elastic.
2) Desired Waist: Typically this is 2-4" smaller than your natural waist.
3) Lower Ribcage: Measure around your ribs at their lowest point which will be on your side.
4) Underbust: Place the tape where your bra's under-wire sits.
5) Bust:  Place tape across the fullest part of your bust.
6) Flattened Bust:  Same  as #5, but push your bust flat with your hands to simulate how you'll look with the corset on.
7) Nipple to Nipple
8) Hips 3” Below Waist: Start measurement from the center.  Take care that the tape is level in the back.
9) Hips 5” Below Waist
# 10 - 15 are vertical measurements
10) Waist to Ribcage:  Use #3 as a reference point.
11) torso length: The distance between the top of your hips and the bottom of your ribs
12) Waist to Underbust:: Use #4 as your reference point.  Make sure not to measure too high!
13) Waist to Underarm: Raise your arm slightly and point down and away from you. Measure to where your side meets your armpit.
14)  Waist to Bust: Use #5 as your reference point.
15) Waist to Back of Neck: Measure to the most prominent bone in your neck.  Don’t forget about your posture!
# 16 - 21 will determine the dimensions of your corset
16) Waist to Corset Top – Center:  Measure straight up from your waist, in between your breasts to the highest point you would like the
center of your corset to be.
17) Waist to Corset Top – Bust: Skip this measurement if you are ordering an underbust corset. This is the highest point your corset will reach.
Make sure you measure at least 1” higher than your nipple to guarantee full coverage.  Flatten your breasts with your hand while taking this
measurement, making sure the tape is underneath your hand.  If you are ordering a sweetheart bust-line this will roughly be the top of each peak.
Typically this measurement is slightly above your armpit.
18) Waist to Corset Top – Side: On average this is 1-2 inches lower than your underarm measurement.  If you go much higher you risk the
corset rubbing your armpit, too low and your breasts may be exposed and maybe even pop out.  Feel free to experiment however – when the
muslin is fitted we can make adjustments.
19)  Waist to Corset Bottom – Center: For this measurement you need to push your stomach flat.  Measure to where you want the corset’s
bottom.  Check this from a sitting position as well.   If this measurement is too short your tummy can pooch out the bottom (this can sometimes
happen regardless of your measurement – though the effect won’t be as pronounced it can sometimes be inevitable).  If it is too long you may not
be able to sit down comfortably.
20) Waist to Corset Bottom – Thigh: Measure from your waist to where you want the corset’s bottom. While sitting down with your feet
together,  place the measuring tape at your waist halfway between the center-front and side seams.  If in doubt, place it directly above the highest
point on your thigh.  Make sure to mention to me if this was necessary, especially if you are ordering an Edwardian ("m" shaped) bottom.
21)  Waist to Corset Bottom – Side: Make sure you measure long enough to cover your hip by at least an inch – if this is too short your corset
can dig in to your hip rather than rest on it.
